Press Release

Hermanson retains leadership of FMC’s Australasia business, continues to be based in Sydney

Sydney, October 1, 2021 – FMC Corporation has announced that Kristina Hermanson, ANZ Managing Director, has been named managing director for the company’s ANZ and ASEAN business. Hermanson will now oversee commercial strategy for Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia, which together constitute FMC’s footprint in ASEAN. She will continue to be based in Sydney and lead the company’s Australia and New Zealand portfolio.

According to Pramod Thota, interim president for FMC Asia Pacific and president of FMC U.S.A., Hermanson has a proven track record in business development and transformation. “Kristina has advanced the Australia and New Zealand businesses significantly over the last three years, leading the team with an authentic and inclusive style. I am confident that Kristina is the right person to continue to develop our teams to meet the needs of growers in the ASEAN region,” Thota said.

The journey for Hermanson, who began her career as an engineer before transitioning to a commercial leader, has been anchored in an appreciation for authentic people, hard and honest work, and strong communities. She was raised on a dairy farm in the midwestern U.S. state of Wisconsin and has worked throughout her career in the agriculture and food industries. Hermanson is a board director with CropLife Australia, Agsafe Australia and the non-profit, Business for Development.

“I have had the opportunity to lead transformational change and build commercial success in multiple functions, geographies and industries. For me, the definition of success is a team outcome enabling more than the sum of its parts, which has significant benefits as we collaborate across the value-chain,” Hermanson said. “This is why I am so passionate and committed to developing talent across the region. I am looking forward to working with our ASEAN team to support customers with new technologies and innovative solutions, including a new mode of action rice herbicide.”

Hermanson added: “We work very closely with our business partners here to add long term value to growers in Australia. In doing so, we also aim to support the industry in developing talent for future growth. I remain committed to Australia and New Zealand, and I want to ensure that ANZ and ASEAN mutually benefit from the opportunities my teams and I are able to create across the regions.”
