Protection from flystrike

Flystrike is common to all wool growing regions in Australia, in part due to the warm, humid climate. Blowfly maggots create painful wounds, leading to fever, weight loss, sepsis and in some cases, death.

Chemical treatments are an effective way to help control and prevent flystrike. However their use needs to be tempered by the resulting chemical residue in wool, which is a problem for processors.

FMC provides Australian farmers with a treatment that helps prevent the damaging impact of flystrike. When applied as directed it protects for up to 20 days.
